As I was researching and wondering how to put the words “beauty” and “camping” into one phrase without it being an absolute paradox…
I happened to stumble onto the term GLAMPING.
Glamping combines the experience of nature and the great out doors by adding a touch of luxury and glamour. It’s becoming a growing trend across the world and allows you to camp without having to sacrifice certain comforts.
Small problems faced when going camping is well, to pack small. It’s a REAL challenge to fit all those beautifying products and gadgets! Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t want to look good even though you’re suppose to be “roughing it”?
So, in aid of all the outdoor Smartgirls, I have narrowed down a few super easy camping, or should I say GLAMPING life hacks:
Wiped out
My good friends all know that I might have a slight OCD when it comes to wipes but for camping this is a MAJOR must!
Gentle baby wipes for body, Dettol anti-bacterial wipes for hands, and for mosquitos try anti-insect wipes that contain Citronella.
*And my star product: Garnier micellar oil infused make up remover wipes, they remove even stubborn make up without leaving your skin dry or irritated. Available from Dischem
Oh Deer
For hassle-free Bambi eyes have your therapist do a lash and brow tint before or consider doing lash enhancements. This means you want have to worry about trying to draw in brows or mascara smudging halfway through your hike 🙂

MINImergency kit
Your MINImergency kit should include travel sized items such as nail file, bobby pins, foldable rain poncho, bandaids and a bandage. Add meds such as a burn cream, allergy tablets, anti-bacterial ointment and pain killers.
Keep your head about you
Blow dryers and curling tongs are definitely not practical for camping, so to tame those locks try using a leave-in conditioner such as Tony and Guy leave-in or use a dry shampoo for oily roots such as Lee Stafford and when it’s all to much, wear a hat or sport a cool bandana/buff.

Face First
Narrow down your most important products or try multi products such as a lip moisturizer that contains a slight pigment and a spf. Also try using a tinted moisturizer for your face and remember spf is vital! I recommend a B.B. cream from Smashbox or Bobbi Brown @ Edgars and Woolworths.
*Make-up hack: use your tinted lip moisturizer as a cheeck blush for that rosy glow.
And there you have all you need to not just be a happy camper, but a fabulous one too!
Happy GLAMPING!
