At OFS Smart Repair we believe in investing in our team.
We understand that the whole is only is strong as the sum of it’s parts. Without our team, OFS would not be half the company we are today.
Teamwork for us is ALL about collaboration.
So, when we decided to create a SUPER fun witty think-out-of-the-box Team Building for the Smart Team this year, we knew just the local Bloemfontein creative lifestyle design crew to collaborate with.
Brainstorming and putting the concept together with maestro Tony Peng and his multi-talented ENVIE squad was absolutely loads of FUN.
Always at the forefront of innovative bright creative ideas, Tony and his team not only brought our vision together, but created a day filled with laughter, excitement and loads of inspiration.
Wanting to create a sense of anticipation and adventure, we decided to split our Team Building into 3 sections:
- First stop: This is your wake-up call
- Second stop: Riddle me this
- Last stop: The Nett Effect
First Stop: This is your wake-up call
They say the early bird catches the worm, but honestly, who will be able to catch anything if your not entirely awake in the first place?!
Starting off the Team with an early call time at the new OFS Smart Repair HQ, we knew first stop would HAVE to be our favourite Stereo Café.
Why? Because who starts a ROCK ‘n ROLL team building without good coffee?!
Second Stop: Riddle me this
Puzzle solving and proper brain power at Elude Escape Rooms.
For the second part of the OFS Team Building, we challenged the Smart Team to rack their brain and out-smart and out-play the Elude Escape Rooms in Bloemfontein.
With the rooms riddled with puzzles, codes, deduction AND a 60 min time limit, the team had our work cut out for us escaping the rooms only using logic, perception and Smart Team creativity.
The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime • Babe Ruth
Have to confess… there were a couple of nervous looks around the room when we heard we were being locked-up! But luckily both teams prevailed and escaped in time 😉

Last Stop: The Nett Effect
The last stop on the OFS Team Building was a Google-style group session at the famous ZAR lab, styled and coordinated by Tony Peng and his kick butt ENVIE team.
The ZAR lab was transformed into a funky Smart Think Tank complete with loungy bright couches, delicious bite-sized snacks, cool refreshments and zany sound and lighting.
The perfect setting to get those creative juices flowing.
The Nett Effect
The Nett Effect session presented by Smartguy Gysie Pienaar and Smartgirls Busi Asia Maile and Jeani Meyer was all about motivating the team, challenging them to think outside the proverbial box and inspiring that AWESOMENESS the Smart Team is known for.
- Jeani spoke about the WHY of OFS Smart Repair. Why we do the things we do, the way we do them and WHY all of it is so crucially important.
- Busi spoke about the Smart Goals for 2019. What we want to accomplish as a team this year and how we should go about achieving those goals.
- Gysie looked back at 2018 and spoke about the practical implementation of The Nett Effect – What we do today will determine what the outcome of tomorrow will be.
We ended the session by asking each member of the Smart Team to add a suggestion, frustration or challenge they wanted to discuss –which was very interesting and thought provoking, by the way!
Two heads truly are better than one and we loved spending quality time together as a team.
