Favourite Music

It’s the final countdown, 2016 has been a long year and as it catapults to an end I am optimistic that I will survive, and convinced that my love for finding and discovering new music is what has kept me going.

The other day I started compiling a playlist with a few of my favourite songs, this proved to be a much more challenging experience than I originally anticipated, the playlist is currently 3 hours 27 minutes long and is nowhere near finished, so don’t stop me now.

I think that sometimes I get confused between my favourite songs to listen to and favourite songs to play, the distinction is somewhat essential. But then again my favourite music changes depending on my mood or the situation, so even narrowing it down is beyond challenging, in other words… I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.

Short of shaking my nerves and rattling my brain, I have decided to interview myself and ask all the tough questions I don’t even know the answers to.

So Magpie, what are a few of my Favourite Music things?

What am I most looking forward to in 2017?

The Temper Trap playing live at LUSH festival in Clarens, and The Lumineers in Johannesburg 2 weeks later, I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it.  Nothing beats a live concert by one of your favourite bands.

Besides Music, another strong interest of mine is politics.

The past few weeks have been rather interesting and although you can vote for your favourite, your favourite might not always win, don’t worry America be happy, remember everybody hurts sometimes, so just whisper words of wisdom and let it be.

*Magpie Favourite Music GIVE-AWAY! Yay!

My mind is probably 70% song lyrics and I walk around thinking my life should have background music or a soundtrack, but just for the record I’m not crazy I’m just a little unwell.

So if any of you can successfully name and identify the 15 Song names/lyrics I’ve used in this blog please inbox me your answers and the first 3 correct answers will find my latest mixtape headed in their direction.
